Portion sizes and pricing swing widely across this group, from a $10 lunch bowl to a multi-course tasting menu at an upscale sushi counter, so checking recent reviews and photos is more useful than the price range alone. In Champaign, dinner reservations for popular izakaya, hot pot and Korean BBQ spots fill up on Friday and Saturday nights, so booking ahead or arriving at opening is worth it. Many restaurants across Illinois run daily lunch specials on weekdays that are not listed on the dinner menu, so it is worth asking. If you regularly walk down Green Street, you might miss the entrance entirelyπŸ˜‚ it’s tucked away and easily overshadowed by the neighboring shops. However, the food was delicious, and they’re happy to customize the spice level to your liking. The owner was incredibly sweet, even while managing some obvious kitchen stress. The dining area was pretty quiet and lacked atmosphere, but it’s a hidden gem regardless. If you’re in the Champaign area, definitely give this small business a try!

The owner was extremely kind and warm while taking my order, so the following review is not a reflection of the service whatsoever. But I am leaving my honest feedback on how I felt about the food. I ordered the Cashew Nut Chicken with extra Beef as a takeaway. I’m from Asia, and this is my favorite Thai dish, so across the world at different places I’ve had Cashew Nut Chicken dozens of times which makes me strongly opinionated on this dish. But obviously the following is my opinion. The chicken and beef was overly tenderized, so the chicken was identical texture to white fish. I understand the idea behind the velveting with cornstarch, but it tasted way, way overly tenderized to do the point that the beef and chicken was overly mushy. I unfortunately had to stop eating it half way through; I’m not sure why and it’s hard to put into words, but there was just an unpleasant taste and texture to the dish that my brain couldn’t keep eating. I also had a pretty bad headache after eating, which could be the excess of cornstarch, or excess MSG, not sure. But unfortunately not a dish I’d order again.

I was taken by surprise with the quality and taste of the food here at Thai Fusion. The lady taking our order was very pleasant and helpful in explaining the dishes. The food portions were great and the heat levels were just right. I have had a lot of good Thai food but this was top level. Curry Fried Rice with Beef and Pad Ped.

Read good reviews about this restaurant, and the food did not disappoint. Pad kee Mao was very tasty, and good portion size. Not cheap (Thai food tends to skew a bit higher than Chinese), but worth the price overall - you know its a good restaurant when even their cheaper menu items are high quality. Ambience is average though, so not the best place for a sitdown meal. Occasionally understaffed, but low wait times regardless. Highly recommend the curry fried rice (even the regular fried rice is tasty and serves a massive portion) and the roasted chili stir fry

Very tasty food. Big portions. Casual place. The perfect fit for college students. 1-5 spicy level available for each dish. Level 2 is good but still pretty spicy πŸ”₯ Good luck on the venture Hunter!
